ABSTRACT This thesis is titled Preservation of Cultural Heritage in East Java Study in the Museum of MPU Tantular Sidoarjo Regency. The Purpose of this Research To learn how to preserve and develop cultural heritage assets in the Tantular MPU Museum in Sidoarjo Regency, East Java Province. This study uses a qualitative method of collecting data using interview techniques and literature study. The results showed that the preservation and development of the MPU Tantular cultural heritage was first carried out by routine maintenance of tourist objects that were considered historic enough so as not to reduce the authenticity of the Tantular MPU assets, then this step could help coaching for human resources who assisted MPU Tantular and those who sought promotional assistance to the outside community to the Tantular MPU priority in terms of historical education, education, and tourism is the reason now many cultures enter Indonesia specifically in East Java, for the inhibiting factors for the success of the Office of Culture and Tourism of East Java through the UPT Mpu Tantular State Museum in preservation and The development is firstly from the budget side that is needed difficult to be disbursed, secondly from the side of access to the MPU Tantular object that is still inadequate, both the communities around Mpu Tantular are still lacking in promotion in MPU Tantra. Finally, the challenges in terms of competition with other tourism in East Java still do not keep up with the times.
