ABSTRACT Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika of East Java Province is one of the government agencies aims to provide administrative implementation guidance for the people who need it, providing real information in the society environment. So in the application of Regulation Number of 14 Year of 2008 on Public Information Disclosure then Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika of East Java Province to form the name of Information Management and Documentation Officer (IMDO). Problems in implementing the Mandate of Public Information Disclosure Regulation is the response and concern of the Leadership of Public Agency is still lacking, often mutations of officials or staff, and no or no budget allocation for PPID activities. The aim of this research is to know the role of Documentation Information Management Officer in the era of public information disclosure of Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika of East Java Province. The research method using qualitative research methods. The results of this study indicate that: 1) The Role of Information Management and Documentation Officer in the Era of Public Information Disclosure of Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika of East Java Province, which is responsible for the storage, documentation, provision and service of information. So far the role of PPID has achieved very good and satisfying results in order to build a good governance government. 2) In the process of public information disclosure run by PPID in accordance with the procedure of description, verification, authentication, and in data storage PPID using only classification. 3) The factors that influence the public information and information that is excluded. 4) Inhibiting factors are human resources because it requires special expertise in community service, but the response of PPID Head of Communications and Information of Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika of East Java Province is very good so it can win the national level.
